La Warner vuole l’Oscar per Heath Ledger

Se ne parla da mesi, ma solo ora la Warner Bros. ha deciso di proporre ufficialmente Heath Ledger come candidato all’Oscar (postumo) come migliore attore non protagonista per Il Cavaliere Oscuro…

Dave Karger sul blog di Entertainment Weekly spiega le ragioni di questa decisione:

Ho sentito che alcune persone spingevano per una nomination come Miglior Attore Protagonista per lui, ma non mi sembra giusto (nè sembra giusto, a quanto pare, alla gente della Warner Bros.). Sicuramente Ledger ha avuto moltissime inquadrature tutte per lui nel film, e sicuramente la sua performance è la cosa più memorabile del Cavaliere Oscuro, ma il film si chiamava così, non The Joker. (…)

La cosa più importante da considerare, poi, è la sua possibilità di vittoria. Dubito che abbia possibilità di battere Mickey Rourke per The Wrestler o Sean Penn per Milk, o Frank Langella in Frost/Nixon, nella corsa all’Oscar come Miglior Attore Protagonista. Ma come Attore non Protagonista, l’unico che potrebbe competere è Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt, casualmente proprio colui il quale vinse l’Oscar al posto suo come Miglior Attore all’epoca di Brokeback Mountain. Mentre la performance di Hoffman in Capote aveva l’Oscar in mano, questa volta le possibilità per Ledger sono molte di più.
